Prenatal and postnatal care
Family Chiropractic & Spinal Health Care Center specializes in care through pregnancy and after childbirth. About half of all expectant mothers develop low back pain at some point during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, when the baby gains the most weight.
Chiropractic care through pregnancy can help relieve, and even prevent, many of the common discomforts, and help your body adapt as your center of gravity changes. Pregnancy care can help with:
- Low back pain
- Sciatica of pregnancy
- Hip pain
- Headaches
- Neck pain
- Morning sickness
- Diastasis recti, after the baby comes

Diastasis recti
Diastasis recti, a separation of the abdominal muscles, is most common in pregnant and postpartum women, because of the stretching of the abdominal wall and the effect of the hormone relaxin on connective tissue. Unlike what many people are told, it usually does not need surgery: core rehabilitation can help close the separation, support your back and strengthen your whole core. More about diastasis recti.
